Every now and then I will watch some of the combat scenes from Gladiator on youtube, which is probably why I got recommended the trailer for Gladiator 2 and for a brief moment I was like "oh man did they finally actually greenlight that crazy-ass script?" and I'm sorry to say that is not the case. Instead of time-travelling Marcus Aurellius being reincarnated thru various points of history to defeat enemies of Christianity they're just making one of those sequels where the events of the first story didn't make any meaningful change to the world so everyone just constantly references it while repeating the same motions and mistakes. The kid from the first movie is the titular gladiator 2. In theaters soon!
