If you share a share of a post, the original poster doesn't get pinged right? If someone posts x, and then someone else shares it with their own post saying "this is really good!", and you share the "this is really good!" post, the original poster doesn't get any feedback from that, right?

The root poster gets notified, as does the individual whose post you interacted with, but I don't think the intermediary posters do. Likes are the same.
