At a minimum, the final sentence falls anywhere from "solid goof" to "misdemeanor posting" depending on your jurisdiction.

Also exactly my kind of shit to do in a game; I am my table's Wizard, in the sense of how Wizards approach the rules of Reality in 3e. XD In truth, I've always loved a good unconventional solution that is also quite powerful, and Lightning Bolt Mining Lasers are right up my alley. :D
