abnormally large, trans of gender, radical leftist, haver of paisleys, and autism supremacist. I like to talk about stories :3

i think ATLUS has a relatively unique opportunity right now
i notice more and more people are becoming politically radical just due to the state of the world, especially those privileged enough to be Gamers, and its affecting consumer habits. peoples' tastes are evolving and becoming politicallly charged, and you can see it in how hard hollywood reception is falling off, how much these big quadruple-A budget games are getting more backlash and less momentum. Indies are getting more and more attention and coverage, even pretty obscure stuff is finding its way into mid-level media. People care about the themes of their games; they give a shit what their media is saying.
Persona has always, as far as i'm aware, been about weirdos and losers getting together and subverting societal systems. It's always highlighted the inadequacy and corruption among police and politicians, and the primary thematic issue i have with the games is that they aren't nearly as radical with their conclusions as their themes and societal critiquea would naturally lead to.
I dunno much about the corporate structuce at ATLUS and I'm sure there's plenty of structural incentives pushing against more radical leftist messaging, but everyone can make whatever choices they want. all it takes is for one executive to sign off on something they might not be "supposed" to and ATLUS could genuinely produce one of the best and most poignant stories to date.
I don't think they will, but they could. and i bet it would sell insane.
