Back to chosting my art meow! This one comes from an assignment I was given about a year ago. Feel free to interpret it however you like, but this is the intended takeaway:
Life is a messy, complex series of events and interacting forces. We live in a world where we are affected so much by that which we cannot control. These aspects of life extend into the making of stories about our likeness after we're gone.
Some try so hard to control their own narrative like it's the only thing worth living for β but if you do that β if all you care about is legacy β you'll find that the strings you pull on to control what people say about you for years to come are ultimately not attached to any pen writing a history book. Your legacy, just like many other aspects of life, will be defined by a multitude of complex factors and forces beyond your control. If you want to be someone noteworthy β not rich, or even truly famous, but just noteworthy β the best you can do is forget about the prospect of legacy and do what you can to be good to others and the world around you. Find the value inherent to making the world a better place. You'll not only be happier that way, but you'll likely do more good in the long run.
