The power source of a skiff can vary; batteries, solar, fusion (careful!), biofuel, and some folk have even tried out wind-up. Most racing skiffs are going to be combustion-powered though, fueled by "Mycodiesel", a renewable oil using the spores of a pyrophilous fungi.
