Talking to a friend about our OCs reminded me that I actually fully thumbnailed an 8-page comic about how Dusty and Janelle met, and I never finished it, and I have weird feelings about it!
Maybe this is something for my therapist, lmao
I had a few people ask years ago how Dusty and Janelle met - I came up with an answer, but it got elaborate enough that I thought it would make a good comic, though it wouldn't be horny. And my SFW accounts and my portfolio were pretty starved for content! So I decided hey, maybe this could be the thing I make for my Professional Comics Portfolio. Oops, now there's 5 times as much pressure behind it! Suddenly I was making it thinking about regular non-furries reading it, and I started overthinking the story and how I draw my characters. And I decide to try a different lining and coloring style than usual, and I produced exactly one (1) page I was sorta satisfied with, then never completed another.
Eventually I felt like maybe the story just wasn't interesting enough to warrant the effort. When making porn I feel like it's fine that I don't have a coherent hero's journey or conflict and resolution, but here I was suddenly panicking over if their character arcs were satisfying or deep enough. Again, it's EIGHT PAGES. If I had just made it, I could have learned from it and moved on to something else already!
So anyway, maybe it's time to revisit it and just make it exactly how I want to, without fretting over who's going to read it. That can come after. And I can add extra pages where they totally bone for the first time.
Only issue is, I have an animation and an actually horny comic and several other projects to make 🤪
But would anyone be interested in seeing this finished?
