Hey everyone. My sister, who is a likely match for me (for the liver transplant) is trying to move to Florida as that would be less expensive than the multiple trips she'd have to here for all the testing. She's out in Washington State. About as far from me as you can get in the continental states.

She's started a gofundme to try and help get her to Florida sooner, than later. Which also means me getting my transplant sooner than later.

If you can spare anything, thank you so much. If you can't, please share the post.

And in the photo? The one furthest left is me. Then my older sister, the oldest sister (one trying to move) and my little sister. And in the front are my 2 cousins.

Thank you so much for anything you can do to help us out. 💜

CARING BRIDGE JOURNAL

I got it in my head only one living donor could be tested at a time. That's not even remotely true. So uh... anyone between the ages of 18 & 60 with Type O blood willing to share a piece of liver with me?

More details in the linked journal.

I'm sharing this again because well I want to start feeling better and that requires somebody's help. So here is the copy paste from Caringbridge in case people didn't click the link.

I spoke with my nurse coordinator today. We talked about a few things. Like yes, get the updated COVID vaccine, and how it's time for an all day visit to the hospital soon. And then... this makes perfect sense and I don't know where I got it in my head that they could only do one donor testing at a time... but uh...

GUESS WHAT?!?

They can test multiple potential donors. So hey, uh... yeah... I feel stupid not realizing this... but hey... anyone wanna help my life improve? https://ccflorida.donorscreen.org/register/now

It's been a couple months. It's been frustrating to say the least with the recent heat that covers the country. Sure it may be cooling off up north by now, but meanwhile I woke up this morning to see it was 82 and felt like 92. I haven't left the house since my hair got cut a month ago. Which means I haven't driven my car either. My car has been sitting in all this heat. And that heat killed my new (less than a year old) battery. I went to go get some bloodwork done and my car wouldn't respond to the FOB. So I pried open the handle to insert the actual key. No lights greeted me. The button to start, did nothing. I couldn't even lock the door. LOL had to turn the key to lock it.

I miss going outside. I miss seeing people. I miss the sun and nature. I've missed out on several things the last few years due to this disease. I talk to my therapist a lot more often because of this disease. This disease has been a teacher for me. It's taught me many many things. I think I've learned everything it has to teach me. And now it's time for it to leave. Please let me get back to living.

All you need to get started with being a potential donor is type O blood and being between ages 18 and 60. The next step is for you to click this link - https://ccflorida.donorscreen.org/register/now - or share it with someone.

Here's what it's like for the potential donor - https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/treatments/21083-living-donor-liver-transplant

I have PBC. Here's a short video that explains it well on a kid's level - https://youtu.be/VHxU77RevgE | Here's more info from Cleveland Clinic - https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/17715-primary-biliary-cholangitis-pbc-

I know I don't typically ask for help. That's mostly because of how I don't think I'm worth it. But after 40+ years I am starting to like who I am. I think anyone is worth it. I am also anyone. Therefore, I must be worth it.
