if i'm starting to eat the pizza at the crust i'm working my way to the other side like it's a large piece of toast
i used to watch people eat pizza all the time, cause i worked in a pizza place and as me and the other manager had a certain amount of autonomy as to how our pizza was made, we wanted to make sure people actually liked it. But due to it being somewhat a family business, one of our employees was the uncle of the other manager, and his pizza was sloppy overloaded shit. He wouldn't listen to us, being two decades our senior. When i saw people eating it crust-first and discarding the rest, i knew we had failed them.

dominos is too salty and pizza huts crust tastes too buttery and also like the cinnamon bread at the same time
if i have to go with pap johns then i'mma make it myself. papa johns just throws a bunch of overripe tomatoes at the crust and calls it sauce. unforgivable.
i mean i make my sauce with just crushed tomatoes and tomato paste at home so it works for me
the only good way to make pizza sauce is to simmer the tomato sauce with all of the meat in it for at least an hour. preferably like 6 hours. it's like a spaghetti sauce. tomato isn't the flavor of the sauce, it's just the base.
Honestly my favorite pizza chain is Papa Murphy's because it's really cheap for what you get and it's generally real fresh out of the oven. Not as good as a proper local pizza but it's definitely a better deal than most chains. if you can swing it.
Otherwise I might as well just plain not front and go with Little Caesar's. Because they use the pizza loophole to game the Service Triangle (good, cheap, fast) by giving you a fast cheap pizza and because it's pizza it's by default still pretty good.

Papa John's is the McDonald's of pizza imo. not the best but my baseline ability to tolerate it at any time is really high. I have to be in the mood for pizza to really want most chain pizzas, and I have to be in the mood for burgers to really want most chain burgers. the only requirement for having Papa John's or McDonald's is being slightly hungry for nothing in particular
you do not under any circumstances "have to hand it to" trump, but eating the crust first... kind of makes sense for stuffed crust?
