Egg events. I hate 'em. Eggs/incubators are just loot boxes by another name and I ain't buying incubators to "maybe" get what I want.
But you get one incubator you can use for free as many times as you want, and after being a sloth over Christmas I needed to get my steps in.
And I really wanted the stupid shiny pink fly... (regardless of the fact it probably sucks competitively, I forget it's name and it's way past the point of where I fell off the mainline Pokémon train).
Morning walks before work, late night walks after - feet know about it. Money I spent on my walking shoes was well worth it.
Was looking grim. A lot of eggs. A lot of not shiny nothing. Last set of eggs I got before the pool changed wasn't looking good. Mostly Togepis and smb2-masked-enemy looking things. Didn't even get more than a couple of the non-shiny flies.
Chatting to a friend on my walk (always like a phone call on my later walks just to be safe, and my ear buds look like beans which, being British, is awesome) and she thinks I've collapsed or something as I go dead silent.
The last egg. The last egg man. It's the god damn shiny fly.
Yeah it's stupid. Yeah I'm never going to use it. Probably not even going to look at it again. But I got the stupid thing. And that makes me happy.
And it got me on my walks again, feels good to be getting 8000 steps a day in easily instead of the 200 something over the festive period.
