My personal fav attempt of fighting Flynn on Unknown Difficulty.
Definitely one of the best 1v1 fights Tales has to offer.

I wanted to record the cutscene on the PC port, but the save file I had backed up was corrupted, but I managed to edited in the scene by recording the Switch port that had a save file before ya fight Flynn proper. Which sucks since I had to fuck up the 1440p PC footage I did record to make the quality look somewhat consistent with the 1080p footage I captured. Oh well... had fun editing the audio.
My aim was to make this fight short, challenging, and have the visuals of the characters match as they were on the US Xbox 360 cover.
Since I wanted the visuals to match, I knew the Second Star sword wasn’t gonna cut it for damage output against Flynn on Unknown difficulty. So, I equip the Barbatos Ring to boost my damage while unequipping most Skills that affect my attack stat to prevent the fight from being TOO short. Plus, the Barbatos Ring locks item usage away and while I could’ve unequipped Yuri’s Glory Skill I don’t think it would’ve mattered—since Flynn can kill me with low single-digit hits.
As a compromise, I immediately use Yuri’s Mysitc Arte (MA) first to force Flynn to counter with his which can kill me REAL fast. The most reliable, consistent way to avoid Flynn’s MA is to use Yuri’s Ghost Wolf arte to avoid it. Basically by using the arte on the frame before Flynn’s MA activation plays, the arte’s animation will be cancelled, but you’ll keep the momentum to shoot across the battlefield and avoiding the MA. Since the timing is strict and how Flynn recovers can affect how fast or slow he actives his MA, it makes for a fun challenge. To be honest, I lost 3 times before I got this run. lol
Overall I’m happy with how this fight played out. Short n’ sweet. Definitely had a few moments where the Glory Skill saved my ass, BUT I believe I made some good plays. Like, when I used Azure Blast to ground bounce Flynn to force him to tech mid-air, then he used Rising Falcon only for him to get smacked by Yuri’s Tiger Blade, which allowed me to confirm into an air combo was a highlight for me.
On god, Yuri vs Flynn is THE PEAK 1v1 fight in this series!
