So last night I get P2N in roulettes. I’m on Warrior, which is the job that gets my top priority for equipment; I’m about item level 646 on it. So I’m sitting there waiting for the raid to start with 118k HP, and the other tank, with 77k HP, asks to be main tank. (I’ve recently learned that max HP is a decent rough proxy for how well equipped you are.) I decide to acquiesce, and keep tank stance off until I finish my first burst phase. I keep an eye on my position on the hate list, and use Shirk when I think I’m about to overtake. And then I’m paying attention to the fight instead, and accidentally steal hate, with Shirk still on cooldown. So I guess I’m main tank after all. I apologize for stealing hate after the fight is over.
