I have Scholar/Summoner at 76 now. It’s coming along nicely! Best guess, it will be a couple weeks until I get it to cap. Scholar took some getting used to around 50, but I think I have the idea now. Summoner is The Easy Job of Endwalker, and I like that; I play it on a regular basis to make sure it hasn’t changed too much, but I think I understand it well enough to play it all the way to 90 now. After I get the next step of my Red Mage relic, I’ll get the materials to make the Scholar/Summoner relics immediately on reaching 90 so I don’t have to craft weapons.
Meanwhile at lower levels I’m leveling Machinist, Monk, and Ninja in parallel. They’re all about level 40 now. I’m having a good time with low level Ninja, Machinist is fun but busy even at this level, and Monk has some cool ideas but they’re hard to keep straight unless you play it regularly. All of these jobs I plan to park at level 50 so I can throw away all my sub-50 DPS gear, then level one at a time to cap; that will be the perfect time to really internalize how to play Monk.
Once I have all my DPS jobs to 50, it will be time to leave my last ARR job: Paladin. I’ll have to craft equipment for that, because I threw away my sub-90 tanking gear long ago. I’m not particularly jazzed to play the job because when I think of holy knights with swords and shields, I think of corruption and abuse of power like in Heavensward. But I’ll do it for completeness. And in any case it’s a good feeling to see a plan come together!
