This evening was unusually brutal in duty roulettes. Highlights included:
- A run of P12N where most of the party, including both healers, had a hard time staying alive, and none of the DPS had backup raises. We wiped twice, although at least the first time was interesting: for a while it was me (Warrior) and three Black Mages, who I was able to keep alive for a while with Nascent Flash.
- Fell Court of Troia with a couple struggling DPS and a healer who was mostly okay but obviously a bit rusty. Again, Nascent Flash got a workout helping heal up whoever ate unnecessary damage. At one point I noted that the Samurai died of a Doom effect that could have been Esuna’ed, and the healer replied they didn’t see it, which was disappointing.
- And finally Snowcloak, with a Scholar who was also struggling a bit. I took largish pulls but not all the way to the wall, and at one point had to invuln because I was out of mitigations and pretty low HP. Fortunately the Scholar came through — I guess their Aetherflow came off cooldown and they were able to slap Lustrate on me a couple times. One of the DPS also ate a good few unnecessary mechanics, but I think it was their first time so that’s only to be expected.
I strongly suspect that we’re getting an influx of new and returning players thanks to the announcement of Dawntrail. Which is a good thing, and will be even better once they get (back) up to speed.
But! I leveled Scholar/Summoner to 90, and got their latest Majestic Manderville relic weapons! It’s getting late, but I’ll post about Scholar tomorrow. It’ll probably be a little longer before I post about Summoner — Scholar I think I understand as well as I’m going to without a more intensive study of the job, but Summoner I think I would benefit appreciably from just running it once or twice in some level 90 duties, so I want to do that before I write about it much.
