Last FFXIV duty of the night was Ktisis Hyperboreia, and it was a doozy of a run. I was on Warrior, and my friend was healing. Fights were taking a lot longer than they should, and we realized that our DPS were having trouble — one was still leveling, underequipped, and probably unfamiliar with their latest abilities, while the other was well-equipped but just not dishing out the damage for whatever reason. Meanwhile my friend was having connectivity problems with her controller.
We managed to muddle our way through most of the dungeon, but the healer’s controller seized up again on the final boss and we all ate unnecessary damage; she and the DPS died, and noticing the boss was still at 80% I decided to just take the wipe. The second try we made it further, but then the same thing happened, and I decided to just solo the boss. It was a little touch-and-go a time or two because I flubbed a mechanic, but I eventually made it. And I had a great opportunity to use my new /sweat emote after the battle! Sometimes you just can’t beat being a Warrior.
