I have the issue of a 'rivalry' felt like it was what the writers wanted us to take from him, but I just hated him so much.
I don't care about his motivations or story or character, he was doing horrible things and needed stopped.
Exactly! He thought he was our great rival, the writers seemed to want us to see him as our rival, but to me he was at most a rabid animal who needed to be put down. I couldn’t see him as a peer or someone who merited respect.
BAHAHAHAHA. Yes. He reminds me of an old "Scenes we'd like to see" bit from a Mock the Week, which I think was Ellie Taylor's, and ends on the line "Piss off Malfoy, you Nazi incel weirdo."
