I was just thinking about FFXIV, and one of the things I’ve come to enjoy about the game is that it’s a rich source of war stories about ridiculous things that happened to me in various duties. Soloing the final boss on Ktisis Hyperboreia a few days ago, repeatedly failing to dodge the circle AoE on Shadow Crescent in the 6.4 Trial, keeping a Machinist alive as Sage when she became main tank for an extended period on the final boss of the 5.4 dungeon … Game’s a good source of memorable fights. :3

I remember running a dungeon with my wife, me warrior, them sage and being paired with a samurai who stepped directly into EVERY AOE every time.
Even if they were already safe they walked into them.
Aaaaaaaa! They must have been seeking death in atonement for some great dishonor. ;-)
I hate when I'm seeking an honourable death in combat but the Sage keeps raising me!
Oof, and that reminds me of a really weird run of Smileton I healed, where the tank and Bard took insta-deaths on the first boss. I cast raise on the tank, but they wouldn’t accept it. Because I was busy keeping the remaining Reaper alive while they played Scythe Tank, I couldn’t hardcast raise the Bard, and I foolishly spent my Swiftcast to try to raise the tank again after it came off cooldown. The end result was that I and the Reaper finished the fight unaided, and the tank noped out of the duty, having never accepted a raise.
