This week I continued my self-imposed challenge of doing my Wondrous Tails without unsyncing or retrying duties, and I ran into a situation I knew would happen eventually: I had Binding Coil of Bahamut in my book, which I don’t have any desire to do synced, and didn’t have Deep Dungeon to provide the missing sticker. So to get that last sticker I did something I haven’t done in over a year: PvP.
It wasn’t too awful. I was totally unprepared in terms of knowing my abilities, but fortunately it was Frontline so having one clueless player out of 72 didn’t matter. I mostly just followed along with where others on my team were going, and tried to be useful. I can’t say I found it fun, but it was tolerable.
I also had The Copied Factory on my list, and that … was a bit of nonsense. It wasn’t a particularly awful run — I only took one death, and I’m starting to understand some of the last few mechanics that eluded me — but party chat was pretty annoying. Bored gamers grinding content do not make for good company. I felt like I needed a metaphorical shower afterwards. But hey, I did learn something useful: I still provide my mentor XP bonus to sprouts even if I don’t have the crown next to my name. And thus I ditched that thing immediately after completing the duty so people would stop being weird about it.
