This being Tuesday reset, and me not being too tired, it was time for me to run Thaleia again today. I still really want the Maiming chest piece, so I went on Reaper; unfortunately there were two other Reapers on my alliance, and that piece didn’t drop anyway. But the casting leg piece did drop, I wanted it, and I got it! So that’s my Thaleia equipment for the week. With my Thaleia coin and my comedy tomestones, I also upgraded my Warrior and Reaper equipment sets.
Thinking on it, since there’s only one more piece of equipment I want from Thaleia, the chance of getting it is pretty poor. Assuming there’s one other player who can also roll Need on it in each run, I make it about an 11% chance to get it each run, so I can expect it to take on average 9 runs, but it’s pretty uncertain. On the other hand, while Warrior is my top priority for Augmented Credendum gear, I think I’ve augmented about four of my Credendum items, so in five more weeks I will be done with that job. Once that’s done, if I don’t have that last Thaleia piece by then, I’ll just get the Credendum maiming chest and augment it, then raise a middle finger to the RNG.
In other news, while I might be taking a break from job leveling because I’m getting tired of it, I ended up doing a lot of it today. I got a level each on Dancer, Machinist, and Paladin, and did the final two Heavensward Paladin quests. (And found out firsthand that they’re even dumber than reputed.) All in all, I’m kinda liking Dancer but I don’t quite have the rotation and priority system down, and that bothers me for the same reason I was bothered by my performance on Astrologian: I feel like I’m letting the party down if I don’t pop my buffs on time like clockwork. I think have a better chance of getting it down on Dancer, but I still feel uncomfortable being in charge of party buffs. Machinist, by contrast … it feels like a demanding job with a lot of depth, but I also feel like I’m starting to get it, so I hold some hope that it might be my ranged physical DPS of choice. Paladin … is Paladin. I’m not a fan of holy knights, oaths of protection, or jobs that have a damage buff that’s not integrated into one of their other abilities. I plan to level it dutifully, then never play it again.
