Finished Unicorn Overlord. Fun game! Not amazing story, but not objectionable either; good character work, managed to get me to remember and care a bit about most of the 50ish named story characters. Gameplay was nice and fun; normal difficulty was suitable for someone’s first tactics game, but it goes up higher if you want it (and beating it once unlocks a new difficulty setting).
My only real criticism is that middle part of the game dragged a little, and the game as a whole might have been a bit on the long side — it took about 85 hours for me, and I found myself speedrunning some of the missions on bigger maps by boosting the speed of a powerful cavalry or flying unit and having them cut through to the goal by the shortest path. But it’s not a huge criticism as such things go.
