Okay, FFXIV derust is going in an entertaining fashion.
I just ran Lapis Manalis as a Reaper. The tank died to the Doom effect from the second boss, and I ended up with aggro for the rest of the fight because they didn’t Provoke after they were rezzed. Eventually the rest of the party all went down to Doom; I tried to solo it but didn’t quite manage, so we wiped. While we ran back I explained about the Doom effect in chat, and we did okay the second time.
Then we hit the final boss, and things were mostly okay up until after his cone AoE that targeted the players. Somewhere in there the healer went down, possibly due to a misaimed AoE. (I might be to blame there, I was rusty and trying to juggle my burst damage phase in the middle of also baiting out the attack, but I didn’t see exactly what happened in the confusion.) Without healing, the other DPS went down; the tank was a Warrior, so I had hope they might get through, but soon enough they went down too. But they bought me enough time — I was able to solo the last few percent and win the fight!
I got three commendations. :3
