Or at least, done with all the things I particularly wanted to get: the emotes, parasols, hairstyles, orchestrion rolls, and Fat Cat minion.
I decided to blitz the remaining stuff out tonight since I was only about 100 tomes from the finish, and oof, that was sure a time. Highlights and (mostly) lowlights included:
- A run of Orbonne Monastery where the DPS were running very hot and we skipped several mechanics, including Mustadio’s second vulnerability attack (you know the one) and the maze on the final boss
- A trolly Puppets’ Bunker where I (on Reaper) got killed twice by badly aimed line tankbusters. After that I switched back to Warrior for the rest of the evening.
- A run of Aitiascope where the healer didn’t want to heal (what is it with these White Mages who only cast offensive spells unless someone is on the brink of death?)
- And to end the evening, a run of The Dead Ends with a White Mage who at least wanted to heal, but kept running into trash mob packs before I did and almost dying (wait up! I’m taking wall pulls, I just haven’t grabbed those particular monsters yet!), and a couple DPS who just weren’t DPSing very well
It was, all told, somewhat of a clownshoes night of duties. But I’ve got my loot — the mogtome items, plus plenty of causality tomestones, and I now have 30 each of Aglaia and Euphrosye coins. Hooray!
Thinking back on yesterday night … I really hope I get some partymates today who are actually trying to do their jobs. I swear, next Savage raid style healer I get in normal content who doesn’t use their heals unless people are about to die, I’m going to just take a normal pull, not mitigate, hit Holmgang, and dare them to let me die. Seriously, the one WHM last night was only using their lilies outside battle, they needed some kind of kick in the rear…
On the bright side, this also suggests that a Warrior and three DPS is a viable party composition! 🙃
