This last week has been a pretty good turnaround for me in terms of personal creative output. Chatted with a friend last Saturday about an Actual Play he was thinking of starting, and helped him hammer out some concept stuff. Might be playing in on that as well, which will be a cool experience.

The Unknown Armies game I'm playing in weekly continues to be a delight, and I'm really loving playing as a complete disaster clown (Avatar of the Fool) trying his best.
Since we're doing a bye week on UA for one player's birthday, I volunteered to run a oneshot of Inspectres, which is a game I enjoy a lot, but has some kinda unfun failure spiral mechanics baked into it as-written. So I rewrote that part of the rules, and we're going to use this as an opportunity to playtest them. It's honestly one of a handful of times I've felt confident I've written something fun and interesting for a homebrew ruleset, even if it's a patch to the rest of the game.

I also whipped up a fun little thing for my players, which I'm looking forward to revealing to them on Thursday this week.

All in all, I'm happy that I've been able to make this happen. Things have been pretty harrowing for me personally recently, and my mental energy has been at an all-time low most days of the week. Having places that I can set the stress aside and focus on the fun stuff has basically dragged me out of the pit. It makes me want to create more, and create more for myself over other people. Maybe I'll share out the rules or my little surprise for my players here once they've been run through a session this week.
