If you tell someone that they don't have to wear a mask anymore, you are ruining that persons entire day. You have just reminded them that our plague rat mentality is still alive and strong and we have learned nothing from it. You have shown the world our ass, and have made it a huge target.
This didn't happen today, but it's been a slow cooker, and it has happened at least twice now, and one of them was from a receptionist at the front desk of a behavioral health clinic at a VA hospital. So anyway if you had to guess who might make up a significant percentage of the victims of another outbreak or variant that might occur in the near future you might look to veterans with psychological issues. Gee, I sure hope that's not a metaphorical ticking time bomb or anything, because if it is boy oh boy we're probably not prepared to handle it. Imagine the hypothetical anger of an old man who loses his wife to covid, his one remaining source of comfort and joy in life, all because the receptionist at the front desk told her son she didn't have to wear a mask, leading to him taking off his mask,
Sure is a relief that that's all just a hypothetical scenario! I'm sure nothing bad like that will happen and everything will be fine like it always has been forever and no lessons need to be learned because we're the greatest country in the universe with the most trustworthy of people who only offer the best of advice.
