It's a fundamental function of how and why we believe in things. Even in places where it oughtn't make sense, can't make sense; maybe even more often, then. It becomes inevitable. Oh, the specifics change. Particular powers, particular moods, particular aesthetics. But the truth is, any world on a long enough timescale will find someone with a brave heart, a gentle touch, and a kind soul to wear an S on their chest and dance among the clouds.

Someone will, because anyone can.
