it's very cool that there's no way to hide posts you don't want to see, and if you block the original poster, reshares of their posts still show up in your feed.

silencing the account at the very least causes the post to be replaced with “we’re blocking something related to someone you’ve silenced”
that's good to know, i didn't realize there was a difference between the two.
