dude it should be fucking illegal to have bright-ass LED lights

this was on the way back from my partner's house and like.... i was hesitating to turn left because their lights were SO FUCKING BRIGHT I COULDN"T SEE THEIR BLINKER. i thought they were gonna keep going straight. when they stopped i figured oh they must be turning so i went and again BECAUSE THEIR LIGHTS ARE SO FUCKING BRIGHT i couldn't see the SUV dodging to go around them and barrelling straight down at me. thank god my timing was what it was, i literally could have crashed right there.

every car being a crossover/SUV is bullshit enough but fucking hell at least put normal lights in there

as far as i could tell they weren't retrofits? i can usually spot the make/model immediately but i couldn't here FOR OBVIOUS REASONS

but it seemed like a relatively new model. Even Tesla/Polestars aren't that fucked bright tho so idk

i do delivery, it is hell driving at night. and when it was slowly getting darker and darker, it was even worse. i started getting headaches because of how bad all these LEDs were and i had to leave work a few times.

This is a massive issue on every new cars that has matrix LED headlights. My understanding is it's up so high because various driving assist modes need them to function. There is generally a brightness control setting they can use to turn it down but a lot of people don't know it exists, and some cars reset it every time you restart the car. I think it's only a matter of time before there's legislation about it in the EU at least.
