My SO @voidburger got me a Steam Deck for Christmas and I'm fully on the bandwagon now. I thought the hype for it was maybe a little hyperbolic and that I wouldn't be as impressed as others have been, but... I love my Nintendo Switch. But that console is long in the tooth at this point and this is honestly what I want out of the Switch now and more. It's wild to finally have a handheld of this quality that doesn't need to be jailbroken or anything. The fact that it can emulate everything up to the PS3 really well, and it's not that much of a pain to set up... damn.

Also I figured out how to emulate pressure sensitive face buttons for the PS2 via the triggers on the back side of the Deck, so now even MGS2 and MGS3 are fully playable. Hellll yeah
I think the steam deck should support Dualshock 3 natively too
I've thought about saving up to get one because lugging my PS4 around when I travel (which isn't often these days) so I can keep my appointments with my FFXIV raid static is a pain in the neck. Literally, that shit's heavy.
I remember when the deck first started shipping out, someone found out how easy it was to find and install a whole bunch of emulators in Desktop Mode. People assumed Valve had somehow sneaked them into the system or something but nah, Linux is just like that.
same, a handheld that doesn't require re-buying my games, that I can sync saves to, that I can customize and fuss with... it's so nice!!! I've been playing more games than I have in a long time because it's just so easy and fun to use
