actually I'm not sure I even need to pay lip service to "of course, having the government run hospitals is problematic..."
we've already seen that when the government wants to do bonehead shit like ban abortions or trans care, the privately owned hospitals go "yes sir right away sir;" they don't offer any meaningful protection for their patients. and while government services may be underfunded, private hospital funds end up paying for luxury yachts and the end result is even less money for staffing and supplies.
so basically, yeah, the US government is not the most trustworthy of entities but have you seen the other guys???
