faalu (my conlang): needs its own punctuation. I made some ages ago, on paper, and much of that work can be used again. for some weird reason, when starting to font the glyphs for this, I made more familiar punctuation for it instead, and looking at it now it just... feels wrong. sure, evolving the language to have familiar looking ! and ? might make sense, at first, but this language is for a thousand or more worlds, some 1100 years in our future. why would it look like that?
"egg" 12 bit computer: yeah, I got this weird idea stuck in my head and started working on an instruction set for it, and some design notes for the processor. this is probably not going far yet, because I have more important stuff to do, but when it gets too loud in my thoughts, I write more details about it. the end result will be RISC, 12 bits per instruction, and capable of integer and floating point ops on 12, 24, 48, and 96 bit words... but not every chip for it needs to work in all those ranges.
due to the tiny size of the instructions, and my insistence that only instructions are allowed in the program stream, the only instruction with an "immediate mode" is "static load," which loads a word from the block of RAM pointed at with the Static Pointer. this also gets rid of the need to repeat such data as much, since commonly used inputs can be put only once in each static block, and it still works fine.
Night Sky Generator: yeah I'm still planning to get this done, I've just been fighting hard against coder burnout. once I get past the point where all the basic "what you need to do for a 3D engine to display things in Rust" stuff is done with, I'll be ready to show some of what I've been doing, here, but the first few posts will be a bit weird. prepare for "here's my interface showing that it's loading all the astronomy data I gave it and converting that into easier to use positions and brightnesses and colors and all!" to be one of the very earliest things I post to show it off.
in the end I really want to be able to walk around in a setpiece on a mockup of a planet, as whatever avatar, and take selfies in the virtual space showing off a sky with a pretty, bright nebula in it, or something like that. but that's likely weeks to months off.
art: too much to list, I'll just post it as it finishes instead.
