I want to throttle people for nitpicking a slogan. It's pithy, that's why it's a slogan. They would have argued themselves into the dirt tearing down "Eight hours for work, eight hours for rest, eight hours for what we will" and undermined the movement in doing so
i feel like this weirdly qualifies as a media literacy problem?
I'm pretty much certain that it is, at least to the extent of people not understanding what the purpose of a slogan or rallying cry is.
