It's funny for me to watch the gurgling death rattle that is Twitter right now, because I remember August 2014.

While not the strictly the star of this story, GamerGate was the birth of a disgusting new era of misinformation, fascist idolatry, and clout chasing via stalking nobodies. They want to control every conversation, be the loudest, most upset sound in the room, even if everything you say is a lie. Society already has rewarded them for doing so. It was always the beginning of the end, the end of Twitter being a cool place to talk about anything and becoming the political minefield it is today.

In the end, the chuds got what they wanted. They found a billionaire stupid enough to not just exploit them, but one that drank the Kool-Aid to the point where he actually believes that he is one of them. He is turning the platform into exactly what they wanted for years now, and it's crumbling into the biggest shit show I have seen outside a 2000s gaming forum.

Personally, I revel in this. It just shows how empty and sad their entire worldview is. Anyone who actually believes in the alt-right is doomed to fail as a long term movement, and they will do so by step on every rake possible
