Last time's foray 1 was the classic x-com tutorial mission where the team went and blew up a statue. Which isn't much to tell. Just that we have Maya the barber (talky), Finn the deserter (fighty) and Twig the friar (prowly) making up our band of brigands.
So foray 2 is a grain heist. There's a power change (The Countess' Master of Ceremonies is taking over the fief) in Grismont, which means there's a change in who's pulling guard duty (can't have old-power "loyalists" around). Well, the old guards were put on caravan duty and so were a little willing to spill some details about where the goods are stored. After a brief discussion, the brigands decided the best way to make friends is bread and wine, right? And they'll consider stealing guns some other time.
This time we basically only handled the infiltration - they got into the warehouse under various pretenses, got the guards drunk and rowdy, brought in a pair of Reformed Faith preachers (one of whom turned out to be a budding socialist agitator) and with the help of ale and the Mask of Lies managed to get them onboard with some crimes for the night and maybe even a longer term involvement.
The only holdout was the older preacher, who was gonna make a run for it and report to whatever authorities they could find. Unfortunately Twig wearing the Mask of Violence was there. With a blade.
While playing out this scene I made some choking noises and it scared my cats so bad that they a) ran to the other end of the house and b) found a new hiding place that we really don't want them using.
Anyway, there were some immediate consequences that led to Twig being taken over by the mask. A loanfang is coming down to see what the ruckus is about. And we're just starting. They still need to find a way to get out of the city with the goods, travel the roads and deliver things to Fletchgrove without losing cargo, drawing too much attention or bringing trouble to the people they're trying to help. We'll see how that goes next week.
