It's ok. Adventurer mode was always a make your own fun mode in a way that doesn't quite work for me. There's a few things missing, like butchery and building, but talking is much easier in the mouse based ui.
I went out, killed a creature of the night, then told the story of it in a nearby fort. Then for a while it was the only thing people were talking about. Which is always fun.
But also, I had a pet bunny. Everyone could pet him except me.
