So, I was not gonna continue my previous fort. That was months ago and I remember nothing about it. So retire, start a new one. I'm gonna be smart this time and get to iron weapons and armor quickly. Gonna have my fort defensible. Then, some 3-4 years in, a notice pops up. A wereiguana has come to my fortress. Cool, good. I have mail shirts and helms. I should be able to prevent any bites and further infections...
The wereiguana is in my main staircase - probably was a migrant and the full moon must have just come up. This means it's also between most dwarves and the armory.
Welp, retire that fort and let them deal with it on their own.
Maybe I'll send an adventurer over.
