Maybe getting like... wooden planks, nails and such to build some simple rails would help lessen the cost? It doesn't look too hard to make something basic!!
Sounds like a really easy way to hurt myself, I'm afraid ;; Was never the most crafty sort. Still, I suppose it wouldn't hurt...

It's an option at least!!! Maybe not the ultimate fix-everything solution!! But like...!! more than nothing I suppose!!!!!
so its def not the same but big BIG advocate for getting bedbars!!! Ive got some on my bed and it gives a similar feeling and makes plushies safe and secure! and if your bed is up against a wall thats one less bar to bu!
