i spent most of the evening setting up a new ksp install becuz i finally got fed up with my main install taking 30min to load and being oddly unstable

the new install ended up being a bit of a realism+near and far future mix with 2.5x kerbal scale real solar system (so 1/4 scale irl) and despite having the textures for the planets at 16k (i honestly tried it as a joke at first but it ran fine) and nearly the same amount of mods if i count it by ram usage, its somehow a billion times more stable and loads in 5min instead of 30. so mission success

also tried pruning some big part mods to keep just the things i actually know I use and that went better than i expected. fixing weird errors between mods was a bit annoying but it went by quickly, and now i have a new install that doesnt crash all the time and i can pick up and play whenever i feel like, which means i am feeling way more confident trying big missions and big ships now compared to the other install which in hindsight was extremely bloated, both in mod count and years of piling mod updates and configs on top of it without double checking if any other mods needed updates (i dont like using ckan so :> )
