Ring Racers is absolutely wild for hidden stuff. I just found something completely nutty but I'm gonna hide it behind the Read More clickthrough in case you want to discover it for yourself.

The game has a bunch of hidden goodies, most of them taking the form of spray cans for additional colour options or shrines hidden on courses where you can play the Mystic Melody to unlock additional characters or followers.

There are a couple of outliers that require you to really go off the beaten path - Jack Frost from SMT is hiding in a little shrine surrounded by snowmen; Nights requires a really tricky jump to access; and you can even find the Dopefish in the game if you look carefully enough.

But there's one more really well-hidden secret that I just found that's absolutely bonkers. I was poking around in courses looking for spray cans and secrets I might have missed when I loaded up Espresso Lane. You start in a cafe with a bunch of tables and chairs so I started driving around and smashing them, thinking there might be another secret condition for breaking them all like in Joypolis. I noticed that you could drive under the tables on the walls, and while looking around for secrets I noticed a weird area out in the void while moving my camera around.

The strange area floating out to the left of the track on Espresso Lane

This was really strange as you never drive up there during the course, and it's not visible as background scenery either. Right in front of the starting line is a little bridge that doesn't connect to the rest of the track, but there is a suspicious little tunnel on one side that seems to lead into the area in the void we saw earlier.

The strange bridge, with the tunnel visible on the left side

With some careful maneuvering, it's possible to spindash boost up the hill of coffee beans and onto the bridge without needing an item. If you've played Ring Racers, the item I currently have, the Pogo Spring, isn't normally given to you during GP mode or Time Attack, so you have to specifically search for this secret in Match Race mode. As far as I can tell, the spring is the only way to access the rest of the secret, so you need to hang onto it. It's way easier if you turn off all random items except for the spring, too.

The hill of coffee beans and the bridge that's reachable from them

Once you're on the bridge, you can drive into the tunnel and hit a dead end. By using the spring at the dead end and using the down input trick at the right time, you can get just enough height to launch yourself up to a hidden area - the place we saw in the void earlier. If you mess up the timing you'll have to restart the map to get another spring and get back on the bridge to try again.

The hidden area accessed after using the spring correctly, with a 5-banana pickup

Once inside, you're given a 5-banana pickup and have to hit a bunch of switches by lobbing the banana peels. Each switch raises a pillar when hit, allowing you to move forward and continue hitting more switches. Missing any will require you to start over since the bananas don't respawn, but thankfully they're all spaced so you can hit them from the location banana pickup and the center of each successive pillar that appears. Successfully hit all 5 switches and you'll be able to access a path on the other side of the room leading to a strange hole.

The hole that can be accessed after hitting all 5 switches

Drive into the hole, and...

Blend Eye, the hidden boss that you fight after falling into the hole

THEY PROGRAMMED AN ENTIRE BOSS FIGHT INTO THIS GAME!!! THE ABSOLUTE MAD LADS!!! THEY DIDN'T HAVE TO GO THIS HARD ON AN OPTIONAL SECRET THAT VERY FEW PEOPLE WILL DISCOVER BUT THEY DID!!! ABSOLUTE UNITS ALL OF THEM!!!
