Some cool line tests from a cancelled Read Only Memories animated commercial
I shit you not, I was working on this 2 minute animated trailer for free in my spare time
as in, the two hours collectively I had between dayjob and portfolio work a day, that "spare time" I should have been eating, or doing anything at all for my mental state
and our boss told me to stop working on this cause it was taking up other resources or some such nonsense
After weeks of me prodding with good example work like this, I managed to get him to give me the ok to work on it again. On my free time. lol.
Legit worked on it hard cause I really, REALLY believed in the cause. Grinded myself down while working full time on all this nonsense, eventually working full time (60-80hr work weeks) at midboss for about 900-1k a month, and STILL finding time to slowly whittle the thing down over about six months. Then I just stopped and worked there for another few years, every now and again getting to "work" on it for a day or two before being shifted to another thing our boss set on fire. I gave up long ago and fully shifted to just surviving the ordeal at that point, and thankfully it was mostly forgotten cause there was no way my burnt out ass could have continued even if it got me more/better work down the line!
Then I randomly get let go in a "downsizing method" even tho our boss burnt more in a day than I did in a month 🥴
And he somehow, after all of this, remembers on my way out to give him the files for the commercial, believing it had something and was gonna contract someone else to finish it for the like seventh re-release of the game. Now I would have completely dissented at that point if I didn't fully know he'd forget where the files where on the cloud much less actually finish the thing
And lo n behold never saw it again lmao
