My PC broke and all I had was a notebook that could run like, excel spreadsheets and get choppy
But I could play old small games, and Iji was SUCH a godsend between long wait times for the next class
Shout out to La Mulana 1, Cave Story Original, and Ofc GBA games
it's a lot easier now! the game got an update a few years ago that added a TON to the pacifist side of the game
i love how iji feels like a game made entirely out of secrets. i love how just before the end you find a text log which just says 'hey dork, remember feeling upset early game that you couldn't reallocate your skill points? well you can and could have been doing so this whole time! have fun with your pacifist run next go around'
"game made entirely out of secrets" is such a great type of game that you so rarely find in this same way. like so many old indie games run on this
SAME. literally exactly my same experience. i couldn't play shit so it was all weird freeware stuff online and tiny indie games on steam. played original cave story soooo much
That was one of my first real forray into "smaller" games, even if they were giant
That and the GBA emu, laggy but I could play mother 3 annually
