good question! speaking specifically for videogames, i love skeuomorphic UI art (mimicking real materials1) and use it whenever i can in my own work. some of my favorite examples are the cut-out construction paper motif in Ape Out and all the worn down stone and gold textures in Hades; you see paper and plastic finishes applied to the UI in a lot of friendly/lighthearted games nowadays and it was very popular in western games from the PS1 era (often to kinda ugly effect but i still find it charming).

i wasn't even sure if "mimicking a computer readout" as seen in the Einhander screenshot counted as skeuomorphic, but i love the look and the Game UI Database says it is, so...
