Berserker who was thrown out of magic school because "Smash It With Your Fists", while effective, is not traditionally considered "magic".
In her defense, few mages could have replicated the feat of tunneling through the ten foot thick granite doors of the great hall using just her fists. The only reason the wards didn't kill her is that "no one shall pass without invitation or right" referred to opening the doors and passing through the threshold, and she technically didn't open the doors. Now there is a time honored tradition of awarding anyone who can find such a work around in the wards with a position in the school, but the grand masters took one look at her bloodied, dust covered knuckles and deemed that she was unfit. They had failed to notice however, that she was still in motion as they said it and poor Grand Master Gurloughs, he never stood a chance. It is also a tradition that the Scholum elevate anyone who can defeat a master in combat to that master's position, but again the grand masters ruled otherwise. This led to quite and uproar with the student body but when they saw her pulverizing the security golems they quickly retreated to their dormitories for safety. It's unknown how long the rampage would have lasted if they hadn't used a dimensional door to send her to south pole, though reports of ice ships sinking in that region have caused some to fear she's on her way back.
