Taken in a macro style, these two Passion Flower blooms show the complex beauty of a passion flower. The three pointed tips of the stamen on top, the three points of the carpel underneath, the many, dramatic coronal filaments, and the petals, are all plainly in focus in the foreground flower, and just slightly out of focus on the background flower.
The composition lends itself to the Rule of Thirds, with two flowers on the bottom 2/3, with top 1/3 allowing for headspace.
The foreground flower also takes up the left 2/3, and the background flower the right 1/3.

The Magnolia Grandiflora, or Southern Magnolia, is native to the southeast United States, stretching into the Floridian peninsula.
Its large, showy flowers are the reason for its species name, being Latin for "big flower." The genus Magnolia is named for French botanist Pierre Magnol.
It is rare in that it is a tree with a large, broad leaf that is still evergreen. The slick, waxy surface of the leaves is able to prevent snow from accumulating on the leaves and weigh down the tree until it collapses.
Wild bees harvest nectar and pollen from the tree and spread pollen to start the process of seed creation.
Many of these seeds end up eaten by squirrels, possums, or birds.
