it's a kind of game that makes you wonder if "every game is someones favorite" is actually statistically true because it bears almost no consequences even in a vacuum and utilizes the world of phantasy star as window dressing while providing nothing in return except a short, kind of humdrum story that is never mentioned again
and god they're all pretty good... except for rudger's? (rudo in the original english translation)
his is like. really bad. like wtf why did they do rudo so dirty giving him a really nonsensical story with really stupid text adventure "puzzle nonsequiturs"? like using a shotgun on a waterfall to open a path? or a harp as an object to calm down a guy? ??? i played his last too so the taste of his being bad is just stuck in my mouth now, which sucks even worse! it doesn't even have a writers credit so i think someone didn't like it either
the rest of them not only add a lot of character to all seven other party members but they're all fun narratives to see play out and mostly pretty intuitive, rudo's was filled with too much shit to pick up and uneventful except for the end where he experiences grief and that's it???? like wtf
good to know that even in the algo star system, people can still get some general tso and lo mein
