i know the ad situation on Twitch sucks ass but i really wish people would stop pissing and moaning about it in chat as soon as they open a stream. like, i'm sorry you got eight ads in a row, but what are we supposed to do about it?

install an ad blocker, buy a sub, leave a bag of dog shit on Dan Clancy's porch, whatever, just stop making streamers feel bad in the middle of a stream!!! about something they have little control over, thanks. we're prisoners of capitalism just like everyone else

i've been kinda tempted to write up a list of Do Nots covering some truly obnoxious things i've seen people do in chat, both on my own streams and in others

another one that's come up frequently as of late: don't ask a streamer "have you looked into other ISPs?" when they're having connection troubles. here in the US, it doesn't work that way. most people are stuck with a given ISP either because a) the ISP has a monopoly in their area, or b) their apartment complex has a contract with a specific ISP and they are not allowed to use a different one (we weren't even allowed to use our own modem at our last apartment!). in most cases, your only real option is to move, and i'd wager 99% of streamers aren't about to do that just to get a better internet connection. again, yell at the ISPs and the profit-driven ghouls that allowed things to get this bad in the first place, not the poor stressed-out streamer waiting for the OBS connection status indicator to turn green again

i don't think there is a single ISP that consistently doesn't suck. and issues may not even be constant. outages just happen. no matter where you may be. that's also a big pet peeve of mine.
