Out of all the horror games people have made to explore the "wrongness" or "liminality" of unfinished or out of bounds video game areas, nothing is quite as off-putting as the fact that Blizzard, for like a decade, had a crypt that included an area called The Upside Down Sinners, sit completely unused. It got used for little ancillary things eventually, but like. "Oh yeah, there's a crypt behind a locked gate that you can see into but can't open, and it includes an area called The Upside Down Sinners" that's some creepypasta shit.
going to the kara crypts for the Lucid Nightmare secret chain was awesome imo
They also hinted about using it for the ongoing "Season of Discovery" which was going great until bilzzard management fucked it by splitting all the devs to the somewhat botched cataclysm classic launch.
if they do put something in the Kara Crypts I'll be diving in and I'll stream it. but SoD is my last ride I think. wow has taken enough of my time.
