I think you and I might be on opposite ends of a spectrum here 'cuz I have to flatten my layers about 90% through to avoid this sort of thing, it's like my nightmare scenario ahaha

nnnope! i have my layers tab as a full length column and i scroll for ages and cry. 🤣🤣
for real though, most of my files aren't like this! adopts are a special case because recolouring is so much easier when each colour has its own layer. i do tend toward the more-layers side for most of my art, but these even more so. the colour coding helps immensely!
War flashbacks to some FR-themed adoptables fish I flirted with once. I had some thoughts, originally, of getting each gene+color set up before I started offering them for sale. That, uh, didn't happen, and boy is this a great picture of why. XD
