definitely feel this, its always been very hard for me to like posts that say stuff like "all men are bad", like obviously there are good men, obviously they aren't saying you're always gonna be bad if you're a man and these posts are just people being frustrated at the very shitty men and societal structures that keep them in power for the most part, but it definitely did make me feel like, because i look pretty male even as a nonbinary person that id never really be able to be a part of more feminine spaces and communities, which really made it alot harder for me to ever explore my gender identity at all and has pretty much prevented me from seeking out irl community out of fear that id just be seen as another man

that's not to say it's the fault of people who said those things, i get why you're saying them and really men like me don't deserve second chances with all the chances we already get, but god it still feels awful, and certainly makes me feel like i dont fit into some of these peoples conceptions of what a nonbinary person is

Passing is a scam made up by cis people to sell more misgendering. I’ve gone out with full makeup, nails polished, wearing the most feminine skirt/blouse combo I own just to still be called “sir” by everyone I meet. Don’t worry about “passing” or “presenting,” it’s all made up. Every last part of it. Present yourself in a way that makes you comfortable in your own skin, and if anyone demands you be uncomfortable for doing it, remind them that the 9mm in your purse didn’t fucking ask.
