I kilt my mastodon. I feel an accursed weight lift from my body
Any particular reason? I feel like a lot of people are portraying it as the SOCIAL MEDIA OF THE FUTURE.
Well, it all just seems a little too homogeneous, most discussion I've seen tends to be about Mastodon being better than Twitter than most things.
Also, they use content warnings for literally anything including food.
To be fair, I've seen some food that deserves a content warning, if not multiple layers of content warnings.
Though, I'd also argue that putting content warningso n everything, with so little description, makes them kind of meaningless in the greater scheme
Oh, yes, absolutely. I'm 100% with you there, though I personally tend to err on the side of caution since my own personal red lines for "I would want a warning before seeing this" might well differ from other people's.
That's also fair and valid, I might be a little more lax myself, I grew up on an internet much less safer than this, but, I think CWs are a good tool that should be used responsibly. 🙂
Oh, yes, I got started on the internet well before even marking stuff as NSFW was considered a default.
But adding a content warning takes like two seconds of my time and might help not ruin someone else's day, so while I might not always feel it's necessary, I file it kind of like with using people's preferred pronouns: the effort required on my part is so minimal that not doing it would stamp me as a bit of a dickhead.
