I understand the market forces behind the "everything must be stand-alone usable out the box" paradigm but really wish there was a way to buy USB-powered devices in "assume I already own cables" packaging, this is just one junk drawer's worth of "too short to use and even if you could most are so cheaply made they'd probably short out in a week" USB cables

Also in this same cord-wrangle I am bemused to note how many RJ11 cables I have given I haven't had a land line telephone in a decade and have moved twice since I last had one hooked up...
